Bex Ilsley (b.1988, Gravesend) lives and works in Manchester. Her current practice explores the constructs of body and personality in virtual, physical, and psychological spaces. Ilsley considers performativity, malleability, objecthood and paradox, using artificial materials, primitive shapes and amorphous forms to reflect these ideas. Ilsley graduated from Manchester School of Art in 2016 and was one of the 2016 Woon Art Prize winners. Group exhibitions include: The New Flesh (VIVO, Vancouver) and the Woon Foundation Painting and Sculpture Prize (BALTIC39, Newcastle, UK). Ilsley will present her debut solo exhibition Emotional Processing at Warrington Museum and Art Gallery in July 2017.
