Inkjet Music Erased #1
This film was created by physically erasing a previous film, which had consisted of printed strips of paper that were fed through an 8mm film projector. I removed the top layer of the paper strips with a pencil eraser and processed the audio through noise reduction software.
This project is related to the tradition of hand-manipulated film that was explored by Stan Brakhage, among others. It also refers to a famous Robert Rauschenberg piece that involved erasing a Willem de Kooning drawing.
