In This Moment looks to bringing place and mind forward by focusing on artists JMCAnderson had met at Cyprus College Of Art whilst undergoing her short residency.
In This Moment captures artists working in and with a new environment. The focus is on the process of their work and how their work speaks to themselves and transitions through multiple materilities. How and what aspects have been brought forward ? What forms have these ideas taken ?
The online space as an exhibition allows these ideas from another place to be accessible and experienced by anyone, anywhere.
Cyprus College Of Art
Cyprus College Of Art is located in the village of Lempa. It was founded in 1969 by the artist Stass Paraskos; the current director is the Cyprus based artist Margaret Paraskos. Cyprus College Of Art aims to offer artists and creatives alike from different countries the opportunity to spend a period of time making art affordably.
The highlight of this magnificent place is the sculpture wall which surrounds the College Of Art. It is a major tourist attraction. The sculptures that make up the wall have fascinating abstract elements made from found materials.
BECAUSE objects of art are expressive, they are a language. Rather they are many languages. For each art has its own medium and that medium is especially fitted for that one kind of communication.
